The mechanism. A rod of 304 food-grade stainless steel with a chrome finish. It lives in your freezer. Open a cold bottle and the rod slides down the neck and stays there. A pour channel runs through it — you pour through the rod, not around it. A clear acrylic spout sits on top and aerates each pour. A stopper seals the bottle between glasses. Dishwasher safe. Fits 99% of bottles, screw-caps included.

The science. TU Darmstadt (2024) measured a glass of white in an 84°F room: 46°F to 52°F (8–11°C) in five minutes. That is a glass, not a bottle, and a bottle is slower. The frozen rod sits in the wine and soaks up heat as the room pushes it in, so the climb slows. It holds an already-cold bottle where you want it for up to two hours. It does not make a warm bottle cold.

⚠️ The Catch

This is a holding device, not a cooling device. It goes into a bottle that is already cold from your fridge. It does not rescue a warm bottle left on the countertop.

The category's number-one one-star complaint across competitor products: "It DOES NOT chill down a warm bottle." Correct. Neither does this. Ice wins raw cooling power roughly 20 to 1 — 333.5 J/g versus steel's 14 J/g. What you get instead is zero dilution and zero mess. That is the trade.
